Beaches in the Balearic Islands
432 beaches
The coastline of the Balearics is not one single thing. On Mallorca the long, open beaches of the great bays sit alongside the narrow coves that open between the cliffs of the Serra de Tramuntana, and alongside the string of inlets of the east coast. Menorca draws a clear line between its northern shore, more jagged and exposed to the wind, and the southern one, of pale sand and pine woods. Ibiza alternates busy stretches with small coves reached by inland roads, and Formentera gathers into a few kilometres some of the best-known sands in the archipelago.
For anyone looking for a home, the coast is usually the first thing chosen, even before the town. That is why every beach on this page is placed in the municipality it belongs to and links to the homes for sale in that municipality. The ones listed above also have a page of their own, with photographs and with what lies around them.
