The Plaça de la Porta de Santa Catalina opens beside Es Baluard, at the entrance to the Santa Catalina neighbourhood. It takes its name from the old city-wall gate that connected the city with the suburb, and today it is a tree-lined esplanade a step away from the Passeig de Mallorca and the port.
