Es Vedrà
Es Vedrà is the rock islet rising off the south-west coast of Ibiza, in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia. It is the silhouette you see from Cala d'Hort, the beach facing it, and one of the images by which the island is recognised.
OpenStreetMap records it as an islet: a crag surrounded by sea, a kilometre and a half from end to end, with no beach and no access from land. Beside it lies a lower islet, which from the coast looks like its shadow.
It is three and a half kilometres as the crow flies from Cala d'Hort and ten and a half from the village of Sant Josep. What it gives this stretch of the island is the view, and it is a view that will not change: nobody builds on a crag in the sea.
