Port Adriano

Port Adriano is the marina of south-west Calvià and the area that has grown around it, beside El Toro and some twenty-five kilometres from Palma by road. A contemporary-design marina able to take large yachts, in an open bay of clear water.

Port Adriano is arranged around the pontoons and the marina's shopping promenade, with restaurants, chandlers and a programme of events through the season. Its extension, opened in 2012, was designed by Philippe Starck, and it is what gave the marina the look it has today. Caleta d'El Toro and platja del Toro lie alongside, and behind it the pine woods climb towards the residential area of El Toro. It is a more restful, less crowded spot than the tourist centres nearby, with a distinctly nautical, seasonal feel.

Apartments and penthouses in developments facing the marina predominate, alongside villas and houses on the slopes with views over the bay. It is a second-home and international market in the upper bracket, in which closeness to the marina and the sea views are what set the price.

It suits those looking for a nautical setting, a berth close to home and quiet away from the big holiday destinations. Worth weighing the distance to Palma and the seasonality: much of the marina's life is concentrated in the summer months.
