Illetes
Illetes is a coastal residential area at the eastern end of Calvià, a few minutes from Palma and adjoining Cas Català and Bendinat. A quiet seafront of small coves and sand, named after the islets lying off its shore.
Illetes spreads along an indented coastline, between pine woods and rock, with small sandy beaches and clear water at the foot of the houses: platja d'Illetes and cala Comtesa are the two main ones. It is a wholly residential area with no centre of its own: day-to-day life is handled in Cas Català, in Bendinat and in Palma, a few minutes away along the Andratx road. It forms part of the continuous residential belt linking Palma with the south-west of the island.
Apartments and penthouses in buildings facing the sea predominate, alongside houses and villas on the slopes and on the shoreline itself. It is an upper-bracket market, with a strong international and second-home presence, where the views and access to the sea set the price differences within a single street.
It suits those who want the sea and quiet a step away from Palma, and international and second-home buyers. Worth weighing that the area has no urban life of its own —barely a supermarket— and that a car is all but essential for everyday life.
